The response process journals guide students while they reading texts.
Through these response journals, students are able to:
- show their understanding of texts (exploring the text)
- show their ability to identify key ideas/elements in texts (exploring the text)
- express their opinions/reactions by making personal connections to the text (Connecting to the text)
- generalize beyond the text: students identify relevant ideas in the text and reflect on them (Going beyond the text)
